HySociety Groningen Meets Hydrogen Valley Bremen – Connecting the Hydrogen Economy Across Borders

On 10 September 2026, around 50 representatives from the hydrogen sector came together for a knowledge-sharing event organised by the New Energy Coalition (NEC) in Groningen.

The event brought together representatives from industry as well as government. The State Councillor for Economic Affairs of the Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation of the federal State of Bremen delivered a keynote highlighting the importance of the newly launched Hydrogen Valley project H2B:IMPACT in Bremen, as well as the vital role of cooperation and networking in the energy transition and the development of the hydrogen economy.

She emphasised that the project, in which NEC plays an important advisory role, will strengthen both regions. The close connection across the North Sea also provides a strong basis for a long-term partnership and continued cooperation.

The discussion with the audience reflected the high level of engagement at the event and the strong connections between hydrogen stakeholders. At the same time, participants highlighted the need to accelerate development and to build resilient and secure hydrogen infrastructure.
